GRP pipes are made of non-metal material and resistant against corrosion. Since there is no corrosion, it does not require cathodic protection and additional isolation material. Therefore, there are no operational difficulties and costs.
For non-pressure fiber pipes for sewage, SUPERLIT carries out a special test that is conducted by exposing the sample to deflection inside chemicals and that tests the pipe’s performance (corrosion resistance), as well as laboratory work that may be necessary for the application. In general, the value of minimum corrosion stress that is extrapolated for 50 years by using the least squares analysis method should be equal to the value indicated for each rigidity class. The value to be obtained in this way shows safe installation limitations during the design phase of the GRP pipes to be used.
