Superlit Helical Filament Winding Pipes, reinforced with glass fiber and thermoset resin, offer a proven combination of superior corrosion resistance and high mechanical and physical properties under the most challenging operating conditions worldwide.
Pipes are produced by the controlled winding of resin-impregnated glass fibers onto a rotating mold using a machine controlled by a computer. The mandrel's rotation speed is adjusted, and the winding comb's movement is synchronized to achieve the desired pattern, angle, and thickness.
The inner diameter of the finished pipe is determined by the outer diameter of the mandrel, and the outer diameter of the pipe is determined by the designed wall thickness achieved through repeated winding passes. After curing is completed, the mold is separated from the cured pipe using demolding equipment.
The application areas of SUPERLIT Helical Filament Winding GRP products are as follows:
Pressurized and gravity-fed water distribution lines (urban and industrial)
Sewerage systems (urban and industrial)
Irrigation networks
Process lines for industrial facilities
Above-ground fluid transmission lines
Wastewater treatment plants
Submarine pipelines
Trenchless technology applications
Resins: Orthophthalic, Terephthalic, Isophthalic, Vinylester
Glass Fiber Reinforcement: E-Glass or ECR
The nominal diameters and pressure classes of pipes and fittings produced using the helical filament winding method are detailed in Table 1.
The standard stiffness class of the pipes is SN: 10,000 Pa.
For trenchless technology (jacking) applications or special project design conditions, higher stiffness classes up to SN 1,000,000 Pa are available.
Two types of connections are available for the pipe joining system. The available types and joining system details are provided in Table 1.
Rigid Connection Type: Lamination or Locked connection type
Flexible Connection Type: GRP Coupling (Full-face)
SUPERLIT Helical Filament Winding products are certified according to ASTM 3517 and ASTM 3754 standards.
SUPERLIT is the only pipe manufacturer in Turkey capable of producing glassfiber reinforced polyester (GRP) pipes using three different technologies: 'Continuous Filament Winding', 'Centrifugal Casting', and 'Helical Filament Winding'.
SUPERLIT is a subsidiary of KARAMANCI HOLDING.
