Performance Standards

Standards developed by EN, ISO, AWWA, and ASTM cover a range of glass fiber-reinforced pipe applications, including the transportation of water, domestic wastewater, and chemicals. The common feature of all these standards is that they are performance-based. In other words, the performance tests required for GRP pipes are specified in these standards. These standards include many quality control and performance tests.

EN Standard: This product standard applies to GRP pipes used in water and wastewater transportation applications with diameters ranging from 300 mm to 4000 mm. SUPERLIT GRP pipes meet the requirements of this standard.

  • TS EN ISO 23856 (Water Supply)

ISO Standard: This product standard applies to GRP pipes used in water and wastewater transportation applications with diameters ranging from 300 mm to 4000 mm. It includes qualification tests and all product tests for pipes and couplings. It covers pipes in different stiffness classes and up to 32 bar operating pressure. SUPERLIT GRP pipes meet the requirements of this standard.

  • TS EN ISO 23856 (Water Supply)

Scope of ISO System Certificates:

  • GRP (Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastic) Pipe

  • Coupling

  • Fittings

  • Tank

  • Design and Manufacturing

AWWA Standard: AWWA is one of the comprehensive product standards applicable to glass fiber-reinforced pipes. This standard includes comprehensive requirements focusing on quality control and performance tests for pipes and fittings to be used in pressurized water line applications. SUPERLIT GRP pipes are designed to meet the performance requirements of this standard.

  • AWWA C950 Glass Fiber Pressure Pipes: Applicable to potable water transmission.

  • AWWA M45: Fiberglass pipe design guide.

ASTM Standard: There are various ASTM product standards used today for different glass fiber-reinforced pipe applications. Flexible joint pipes in the diameter range of 300 mm to 4000 mm are subjected to hydrostatic pressure testing, simulating operating conditions.

  • ASTM D3262: Non-Pressure Sewer Pipe. Applicable to wastewater transmission.

  • ASTM D3517: Pressure Pipe. Applicable to potable water transmission.

  • ASTM D3754: Pressure Sewer Pipe. Applicable to wastewater transmission.
