Seawater Desalination Plant in Malta Connects to Ta' Qali Group Reservoirs

SUPERLIT pipes were preferred for the drinking water project, which will use large diameter glass fibre reinforced pipes (GRP) to be installed in the tunnel connecting the Reverse Osmosis (RO) desalination plant in Pembroke and the Ta' Qali Group reservoirs.
The first shipment of the project, which was contracted last year and the design work was completed during the year with the joint work of SUPERLIT and Water Services Corporation engineers, was realised.
Within the scope of the project, a total of 14 km of GRP pipes with DN1200 mm and DN800 diameter range will be delivered.
SUPERLIT is the only pipe manufacturer in Turkey capable of producing glassfiber reinforced polyester (GRP) pipes using three different technologies: 'Continuous Filament Winding', 'Centrifugal Casting', and 'Helical Filament Winding'.
