SUPERLIT is Aware of the Global Water Access Shortage: Water Well Social Responsibility Project in Senegal

Jul 12, 2018

Water is one of the most important values of human life. Dwindling resources and ever-increasing demand for water as a result of limited access and global climate instability are indicators of the distress that humankind is experiencing and will experience. In the mid-2010s, about 1.9 billion people (27% of the global population) were living in areas of potentially severe water scarcity, and by 2050 this figure is expected to rise to 2.7-3.2 billion (The United Nations World Water Development Report 2018, p.13).

SUPERLIT sponsored the construction of a water well project in the Ziguinchor region of Senegal, which will directly benefit 462 people. With the efforts of Sen-de-Gel Association, the water well, which was recently opened to the use of the local people, aims to meet the need for access to clean water in the region.
