The ventilation problem in the Zigana Highway tunnel is being resolved by lining vertical ventilation shafts, which vary in height from 150 m to 400 m at three separate points along the tunnel, with specially designed SUPERLIT CTP composite pipes that have a diameter of 3.1 m.

Thanks to their smooth inner surface, SUPERLIT CTP composite lining pipes allow for the required airflow to occur in smaller cross-sections compared to traditional lining methods. Their high strength and lightweight properties enable quick and safe installation. The project also stands out as an extraordinary endeavor due to its assembly methodology and the mounting accessories designed for the lining pipes.

When completed, this twin-tube highway tunnel, measuring 2 x 14.5 km in length, will be the longest in Europe and the second longest in the world.
